Carla Pileggi Caviola, LPC/LMHC, NCC, PSI established Elyon Professional Counseling in 2011. She is Licenced as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in CT and a Licenced Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in NY State. She is a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC) as well as a Professional Member of Postpartum Support International (PSI). Carla is also a Founding Board Member of PSI-CT and is a Fairfield County PSI-CT Representative.
Although Carla previously worked in marketing in different businesses internationally, she felt called to Counsel and completed her Masters of Arts in Counseling at Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in 2008. She has worked in outpatient mental health clinics in Westchester County, NY. Her clinical work includes working close to the community across the life span of individuals, couples and families. Carla also counseled clients at a Christian Counseling Center as well as a women's shelter in CT. Besides her BA degree in Advertising, Communications and Marketing as well as her MA in Counseling, Carla also completed Master's levels courses in Theology in the Global Context, Systematic Theology and Spiritual Formation. She also completed one year of practical studies at ARC School of Ministry.
Carla has lived in Brazil, Canada and the United States and has always been fascinated with different cultures. She has lived and worked in various multicultural settings. Therefore, due to her personal experience and clinical training, she uses cultural sensitivity with her clients in the therapy process. Her clients over the years have represented various ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds. She provides therapy in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Carla is a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist, who has provided treatment and support for woman and families in CT and NY State. She provides symptom relief, individual psychotherapy for pregnant and postpartum women, marriage/couples sessions as well as mommy-baby work focusing on attachment.
Although Carla works with people of all belief systems, she is also specialized in integrating a Judeo-Christian psycho-spiritual approach in counseling, should that be of interest to her clients.
Carla also loves facilitating groups. Her therapy group experience includes leading parenting groups, women's coping skills group, career counseling groups and a Christ-Centered Inner Healing Group. She has also lead group discussions for mother's who have been previously incarcerated.
